Lamontai Improvement District (LID)

Welcome to Lamontai.org!

This website has two main functions:  To provide LID residents with information about our shared water system and secondly, to serve as a communications hub for alerting the LID community when time sensitive issues arise that may affect water supply and quality.  Alerts will be posted on the website and also sent directly to the email or text message number you prefer.  (Read more…)

Current Operating Conditions

Good Evening –
The operations team has just confirmed that the repair is complete, the lines are flushed, and all of the homes are back in service.  The reservoirs have also recovered, so it is no longer necessary to conserve water.  13 homes were affected, if you lost water during this event then please continue to boil any drinking water through Saturday — we’ll have samples back from the lab then & will let you know if the water is safe to drink.  If you are still without water please contact Lonny @ 541-206-3976.  Kudos to Lonny and our contractors (Dave’s Pump & National Construction) for jumping on this so quickly — we’re fortunate to have such a capable & responsive team.  This is the final update for today
Thanks
Ron
DRINKING WATER WARNING
Boil Your Water Before Using
13 homes were affected.  If you are in one of these homes, follow these instructions.
Due to loss of water pressure in the distribution system on 10/16/2025, potentially harmful bacteria could be present in the water supply. If these bacteria are present, they could make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems. The affected area is limited, but if you have received this notice directly from your water provider, you are in the affected area. Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Customers should bring water to a rolling boil for 1 full minute, allow the water to cool before using, and store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover. Customers should use boiled water that has cooled or bottled water for:  Drinking  Brushing teeth  Washing fruits and vegetables  Preparing food and baby formula  Making ice  Cleaning food contact surfaces The boil the water notification is being issued by flier and or the quickest way possible by email, text and posted on Lamontai’s website for the addresses known and by door to door notifications also several home owners will be notified by phone. The system encountered a broken 4″ main that was caught and isolated before the storage reservoir was drained causing a no pressure situation in our distribution pipes ONLY ON WAUKEENA WAY (13 residents). After 60 minutes of flushing the main after repairs, Once similar levels of chlorine are detected at the nearest tap to the repairs bacterilogical samples will be taken by Wyatts water works Operators and analysized by ALG Laboratories. We will inform you when tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water. We anticipate resolving the problem within 24 to 36 hours from the time of the repair. This boil water advisory is a precaution. To limit risk to health, customers should follow the instructions contained in this advisory. For more information, go to or contact Lonny Sayles DRC/OPERATORat , 541-206-3976 or wyattswaterworks@gmail.com. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by contaminants in drinking water are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800- 426-4791 or the Oregon Health Authority, Drinking Water Services at 971-673-0405.

Lamontai Improvement District (LID) Water System Overview

The LID currently operates a fully metered pressurized water distribution system with: 98 connections, two 50,000 gallon reservoirs in separate locations, a 5000 gallon transfer tank and 16 wells approved and allowed under State of Oregon Water Rights Certificate 89534. One of the main points to understand about this system is that it does not have an unlimited supply of water. This is especially critical during the months of July, August, and September when the system can become stressed. It is imperative that each and every resident does their part to conserve water.
